Dan Busby – Puffins to Penguins: The Birds of High Latitudes
Huron Shores United Church Concert Hall

Dan Busby – wildlife photographer, life-long birder, and professional biologist - took Rotarians and friends on a fascinating journey to both the Antarctic and the Arctic.

With amazing video and photography, Dan gave us a vivid picture of our coldest climes, and introduced us to the wide variety of birds and wildlife that make this habitat their home. Dan took us first to the Antarctic, with stops at the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, Cape Horn, and then journeyed to the north to Iceland, Greenland, the Canadian Arctic and Labrador.

Dan regularly travels the high Arctic and Antarctic as resident Ornithologist on an expedition cruise ship, and met a number of Grand Bend Rotarians on a recent expedition to Antarctica. The presentation, part of the Rotary Speakers Series, took place in the beautiful new Huron Woods United Church Concert Hall, created with the generous support of our Club. It was great to see the Hall almost full with Rotarians and friends.

Thanks to Dan for giving us a taste of the high latitudes, bringing the Antarctic and Arctic vividly to life through this wonderful presentation.
